Anxiety Attacks While Sleeping
Anxiety attacks are not restricted to only a person’s woken state, they can manifest while a person is asleep as well. These attacks while sleeping could lead to sleeping disorders like insomnia.There is no clear-cut cause of anxiety attacks while sleeping. A plethora of events can possibly cause this disorder. People that experience extreme anxiety while sleeping can look to changes in their lives, which they found traumatic as the root cause for their anxiety attacks.
People that experience these anxiety attacks in their sleep often exhibit symptoms like trembling, extreme sweating and shortness of breath. It is also common to experience feelings of immobilization. During the occurrence of an anxiety attack while sleeping, a person may feel awake, but incapable of any body movements. This is in fact not an abnormal body process during deep levels of sleep, but it is a process, that can be very nerve racking for victims of these attacks. These attacks are not life threatening, however it is often the case that victims of such attacks often feel like their lives are in danger during these episodes. So by some beneficial techniques we can kick panic away and win over it.
One of the biggest downsides to constantly experiencing these anxiety attacks while sleeping is that the victims can develop a great level of apprehension for falling asleep. As a result, these persons can be left markedly drained or tired during the day since they are not getting an adequate amount of sleep.
There are different ways to combat the effects of anxiety attacks while sleeping. Medications can be prescribed to nullify the effects. People can also use therapeutic approaches to gain control of their mental processes and in turn control of their mental stressors. Ultimately the best way to deal with anxiety attacks during sleep is to address and remove the stressor at the center of the problem. Remedies like prescription drugs will only help to alleviate the symptoms of these attacks, but will not be a permanent solution to the problem.
