A Look At The Causes For Anxiety
Anxiety effects us emotionally, as well as in our minds and bodies. Anxiety is a mind body state that causes changes both psychologically and physiologically. Our thoughts, physical body, emotions and behavior are all affected.
Added together, the feeling of anxiety is quite unpleasant. We call the feeling of anxiety by many names, including stress, apprehension, uptight, dread, worry, uneasiness and fear.
With the broad areas that are impacted, anxiety is known as a generalized mood condition.
It may seem strange, but the person experiencing anxiety may not know what causes anxiety. The trigger of anxiety can be illusive.
There is a big difference between fear and anxiety because when we are experiencing fear, the danger is present and known. With anxiety, we may feel dread of an unknown threat, or that there’s no way to avoid the danger.
Fear, conversely, instead, is obvious - we can see or hear it. And when we feel fear, the reaction is to either flee, fight or freeze.
Fear and anxiety also differ in that fear is a present danger. The anxiety cause is about a nameless future dread.
We have too many causes for anxiety in our lives today!
Even if becoming anxious is the normal result of stress, the longterm effects of chronic anxiety can be damaging to our health and overall well-being.
Panic attacks are sudden, extreme anxiety.
Some of the normal physical reactions to anxiety include headaches, digestive disturbance, shortness of breath, exhaustion, irregular heartbeat, tight muscles. The physical reactions prepares you to escape or defend yourself.
It increases your heart rate, makes you sweat and switches blood flow from digestion and your immune system to the large muscles
In addition to these anxiety effects, anxiety affects your mind. Thoughts and emotions turn to imaging bad outcomes, dreading the future, feeling irritable, feeling jumpy, expecting danger, trouble with concentration. It can feel like everyone and everything is dangerous or a threat.
Obsessive thoughts are common. When experiencing anxiety, you can even be afraid of dying. Often when people are anxious, they may imagine that the symptoms they are feeling are signs of serious disease.
